Sven Knoblauch (pictured left) is the new Area Manager Germany for WindNOW! GmbH.
From the Helmstedt location, he now oversees the operational direction of the service company across the entire German-speaking region.
"Sven is our skilled man in the right place, on site," says Christian Berndsen, Director Operations & Engineering (pictured right). "With his decades of experience, he will set the course for the future of our independent full-service operations in Germany."
We asked Sven a few questions:
As a trained mechanical engineer and electrician, you clearly know your way around hands-on implementation. You've been active in the wind industry for over 25 years — from service technician to technical area and regional manager at Vestas, and later as a project expert at Availon. You've gained extensive experience in project management and personnel leadership. What drew you to the small but mighty WindNOW! GmbH in Helmstedt?
Sven:
I left Availon, a subsidiary of VESTAS Deutschland GmbH, after 26 years with a heavy heart because the company is being dissolved. I was determined to stay in the wind industry, and WindNOW! offered me a new challenge.
What will be the focus of your new role?
Sven:
Leading and developing our service technicians, managing operational service, and customer support. I also want to use my experience to initiate processes that improve efficiency.
Which processes are you referring to?
Sven:
Several areas: expanding the technician team, working with external service providers, post-processing of orders, onboarding of new service technicians, and creating a structured training and induction plan. I also want to ensure that safety remains a top priority. Internal and external communication is very important to me.
And personally? What do you like about your location in Helmstedt?
Sven:
This is my home. I really appreciate the family-like atmosphere and the sense of community. And of course, I like my office too (-:
