Fast generator replacement thanks to spare parts stock
That was quick: Since we had the generator for the Vestas V90 in stock, the major component replacement at the Kall wind farm (North Rhine-Westphalia) could be carried out without extended downtime - with six WindNOW! employees and a 110-meter crane.
When replacing major components, logistics play a crucial role. All spare parts and the crane must be available on site as quickly as possible. During a generator replacement, the nacelle roof of the V90 is removed and the connection between the main shaft and the generator (coupling) is released. The defective generator is lifted out by crane, and the new one is hoisted in.
